We are launching a new Farmers’ Market on Saturday 9th Oct, running monthly on the second Saturday from 9–12 (next dates for 2010 are Sat 13th Nov, Sat 11th Dec and continuing in the New Year from Jan 8th). We have a range of stalls offering various meats, poultry, eggs, fish, fruit & veg, breads, cakes, preserves, etc as well as locally produced crafts. Refreshments will be available.
The venture is part of a fund-raising initiative by a team of volunteers on behalf of Fowlmere Village Hall, Registered Charity 284524. Several individual events so far this year have saved the hall from the immediate threat of closure and we are now looking at ways to boost regular income. The market is an ideal way to do that, as well as providing an opportunity to buy local fresh produce and crafts to our community and surrounding villages. All pitch fees go direct to the hall, not into an organiser’s pocket. The hall is large with very good facilities and has plenty of parking.

A national search is underway to find a unique talent and ask one simple question – So you want to be famous?
Touring the country, the So you want to be famous panel will be out to source the best unsigned music talent the UK has to offer.
Whether a band, solo singer, rapper or a fully committed choir, if you think you can hit the notes necessary then this competition is for you.
Kat Price ……..“I know it’s going to be a huge project to try and change people’s perception of the dreaded “Talent Competition” but our team has the natural ‘go get it’ ambition. None of us are lime light grabbers and all work together to achieve one goal – to find a hidden talent”.
Applications can be submitted now until the end of January with auditions starting from January through until March.
“There is no entry fee attached to this competition. We wanted to make sure it was viable for everybody. So many young musicians spend all of their savings just to take part and try out; we didn’t want to be attached to that.” Said Kat.
As well as Kat the judges consist of Tom Fowler Co-Director, and Co-Director, Amanda Jacks, Vicky Jones, Songwriter.
So if you think you can sing the blues, or create your own sound of music then visit and apply to guarantee your place today. Email : [email protected]

We started about 6 weeks ago and would now like to invite more members to join our team of enthusiastic singers. If it's a good tune, we'll sing it! We're currently working on Build me up Buttercup, You to me are Everything, How Deep is you Love and Here Comes the Sun. It's just £1 per session which goes towards the Kaos Deaf and Hearing Childrens choir and the Upside Down Sports Club for disabled children.
