England's international against the Netherlands at Wembley has been called off because of the riots in London.

The decision comes following a meeting between the Football Association and Metropolitan Police.

A crowd of 70,000 was expected at Wembley for the game on Wednesday.

West Ham and Charlton have postponed their Carling Cup home matches which were due to take place on Tuesday night, at the request of police, after three days of rioting in London.

The Hammers were set to host Aldershot at Upton Park while Reading were scheduled to travel to Charlton.

Crystal Palace's match against Crawley at Selhurst Park is also off, as is Bristol City's game against Swindon.
